好辭彙共賞:
(1)the state of our union =我們國家目前的情況。State = 狀況、情形、情況、形勢。What's the state of affairs = 有甚麼情況？State one's case = 陳述自己主張﹝立場﹞
(2)we've come too far =破釜沉舟（cross the bridge, burn the boat）。Go too far = 過份（To take something beyond a socially acceptable boundary）。例句：Victor thinks Julian has gone too far when she can't stop telling jokes about gay people.
(3)turn back = 走回頭路。Turn the clock back = 回到昨天（The desire to revisit the past in order to experience or change something）。例句：Victor wants to turn the clock back to when people lived in small villages and took care of each other.

短評共賞:
我最喜歡的一句引言是John Allen將軍的"This is not who we are"。我可以想像到他說這句話時的痛苦表情。美國人是尊重個人信仰的，焚燒可蘭經只不過是人為的錯誤，不可以視為國策。
